The Government of Telangana introduced the Transgender Traffic Assistants Programme in December 2024 to promote social inclusion, provide dignified employment opportunities and strengthen traffic management in Hyderabad City.

Programme Overview

Launch:
December 2024 under the leadership of Hon'ble Chief Minister Shri A. Revanth Reddy and Commissioner of Police Shri C.V. Anand, IPS.

Recruitment:
38 candidates were selected after physical and endurance tests conducted at Goshamahal Police Grounds.

Training:
Two-week specialised training covering traffic rules, road safety, physical endurance, public interaction and traffic regulation techniques.

  • Assist in traffic regulation and road safety awareness.
