How to Register a Vehicle
Complete guide for vehicle registration, renewal, transfer, duplicate RC, and NOC procedures.
An application for Temporary Registration shall be made in Form 20 of the Central Motor Vehicle Rules, 1989.
Application for extension shall be made to the Registering Authority along with Temporary Registration documents.

- Copy of Sales Certificate in Form 21
- Road Worthiness Certificate in Form 22
- Valid Insurance Certificate
- Pollution Under Control Certificate
- Proof of Address
- STA Design Approval (Trailer/Semi Trailer)
- Original Sales Certificate for Ex-Army Vehicle
- Customs Clearance Certificate for Imported Vehicles
- Temporary Registration Fee Rs.15/-
- Tax as per APMVT Act
Application for permanent registration shall be made within 7 days from the date of delivery of vehicle.

Registration marks must be clearly visible on both front and rear sides of the vehicle.
- Rear number plate must be within one meter from ground.
- Transport vehicles must display number on both sides.
- Stage carriage vehicles must display number inside vehicle.
- Trailer vehicles must display registration mark separately.
