Hyderabad Traffic Police Initiative

The Hyderabad Traffic Police launched the Traffic Marshal Scheme on August 21, 2025, deploying trained marshals and patrol bikes to improve traffic flow and road safety under a PPP model.

Key Aspects

Structure & Partnership:
The program is a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) wherein private firms, hospitals, and schools sponsor the marshals' salaries.

Personnel & Recruitment:
100-125 traffic marshals have been trained for 10-15 days at the Traffic Training Institute (TTI) in Goshamahal, with plans to scale to 500 personnel.

Uniform & Role:
White uniform, 8-hour shifts, traffic regulation and congestion control.

Patrol Bikes:

  • Body cameras
  • PA systems
  • Dashboard cameras
  • Towing equipment

Objective:
Improve traffic flow and reduce congestion at key locations.

Spearheaded by Hyderabad City Security Council (HCSC), improving coordination for better city safety.
